NO. The BOX X5 is a phono preamp with a higher amplification gain than a regular preamp, thus it is not suitable for use as a standard preamp.
Q2: How do I adjust the gain and resistance settings on the BOX X5 based on the cartridge?
We recommend the following combinations (of course, adjustments can be made based on the actual setup):
MM -- 47KΩ: > 2mV
MM Low / MC High -- 47KΩ: ≤ 2mV
MC -- 100Ω: ≤ 0.5mV
MC Low -- 100Ω: ≤ 0.25mV
